If you are already looking to buy PVC strip Curtains, then you will no doubt be aware of their benefits; they are a superb addition to any working environment where a barrier is needed against air pollutants, dust, noise, cold or heat, or where a workspace needs dividing.
There are, however, a number of points you need to consider before making your purchase, to ensure that you get the most from your PVC strip curtains.
Size matters! Firstly, you need to establish the width you would like your curtain strips to be. If the area they are to be used in has a high footfall, you will want to opt for lighter, thinner curtains – you don’t want the energy levels of your staff sapped by having to push their way through thick, heavy curtains on a regular basis. Equally, if the curtains are to be hung in an area that is exposed to high winds or a particularly draughty environment, then we would always advise a heavy, thick curtain that will protect you from the elements.
Getting the correct length of curtain is also important – we recommend that the curtain strips should just meet the floor. If the curtains are too short, then whatever it is you are trying to keep out will sneak under; too long and they could cause a trip hazard, and obviously buying more material than you need is not a good move economically.
Once you have decided on the size of your curtains, you will need to decide on the material required. PVC strip curtains are available in different grades and materials, and consideration needs to be given to the environment the curtains are to be used in. For example, cold or freezer rooms will require polar-grade strips, as regular PVC Strips would freeze, leading to the possibility of them breaking. For food storage areas it might be that you require food-grade PVC. Welding areas require a special grade of welding grade PVC strip that is specifically designed to block out sparks and other hot projectiles that could cause serious harm.
PVC Strip curtains are available in a variety or colours and transparencies – once you have decided upon the size and grade of curtain you require, you have to pick a colour! Again, the environment they are to be used in may dictate the option you choose – transparent curtains are easy to see through and therefore are perfect for areas where machinery is being driven in areas that people are also on foot. Opaque or solid curtains are good for zones where privacy between areas is essential.
At Rayflex Group we offer a selection of colours including solid red, blue, grey, and black. In our translucent range we stock red, blue and yellow (anti-insect screens) along with frosted and standard clear options, amongst others.
As you can see, there are a number of important things to consider before purchasing your PVC strip curtains, but we are here to help talk you through these choices and ensure that you make all the correct decisions to get you the perfect PVC strip curtain for your requirements.
