Here at Rayflex, we offer a range of high-quality PVC Strip curtains, that are suitable for various applications including industrial doorways, pedestrian doorways, and in schools and nurseries.
All of our PVC strip curtains are manufactured to last long-term, however, just like any product that is used daily, they can become damaged. With over 40 years of experience in the PVC industry, we know when PVC curtains need replacing, and so we have created a list on what wear and tear you should look out for.
PVC strip curtains can be susceptible to cracking when the wrong type of PVC grade is used, particularly in colder temperatures when the material is under pressure and becomes too rigid. For example, if you require PVC strip curtains for an industrial fridge or freezer setting, a polar grade should be used, as it can withstand cold temperatures. At Rayflex, we offer a polar-grade industrial curtain kit that remains flexible and soft up to -40 degrees.
PVC curtains are very durable and robust, and they are designed to endure a lot of rough usage. However, with continuous exploitation, the clear PVC can become very scratched and marked, which causes the material to become more opaque. Over a prolonged period of time, the scratches can build up to a point where visibility is reduced, which can present a risk to workers. Severely scratched PVC will need to be replaced.
Rips and missing chunks are fairly rare as PVC is very thick and tough, however, with repetitive use and contact with sharp edges from heavy machinery and equipment, they can become damaged. If parts of the curtain start to break off, it will be wise to replace them.
The age of your PVC and stubborn dirt can discolour the curtain strips, which defeats the purpose of them. One of the main reasons for installing PVC curtains is because they are transparent, dividing areas in places such as a warehouse for easy access and visibility. Most of the time, the dirt can be removed, but if the PVC itself has altered, it might be time to swap it out.
As PVC curtains are under a lot of stress, they can become very rigid, and it will be harder to pass through them. If it seems like your PVC curtains have lost their flexibility, you should consider purchasing some new ones.
In the case that you need to replace your PVC strip curtains, we do offer replacement PVC strips, that can be purchased in various widths, thicknesses, and colours to meet your specific needs. This service we offer will save you both time and money, as you do not need to purchase a whole new curtain set.
If you think you might need replacement PVC strips, contact us today on 01925 638753 or email sales@rayflexgroup.co.uk, and our team will be more than happy to help! Please feel free to browse all of our other PVC products on our website too.
